Abstract

Au cours des deux dernières décennies, la mesure du poids de l'économie sociale et solidaire (ESS) a suscité un intérêt croissant de la part de divers acteurs aux niveaux national et international, sur la base de méthodologies et de cadres de référence diversifiés qui ne sont pas toujours clairement identifiés ni questionnés par ceux qui les utilisent, alors même qu'ils véhiculent parfois des normes implicites. Les auteurs analysent les questions soulevées par la mesure de l'ESS au niveau national français, puis examinent la complexité qui caractérise cette question au niveau international où s'agrègent des référentiels et normes encore plus variés. Cet article explique pourquoi les données doivent être coproduites et sous-tendues par une réflexion sur leur usage afin d'être réellement utiles aux différents acteurs et organismes qui s'y réfèrent, ainsi qu'aux citoyens.
