Abstract

At the confluence of new organisations and new theorisations of space, the introductory text aims first to highlight the difficulties of traditional approaches to space in organisational studies in dealing with the sensitive, inhabited, moving and resisting dimensions of organisational spaces. It thus calls for the further development of the spatial turn in organisational studies. The articles in this issue are part of such an ambition, revealing some of the issues and challenges of new configurations, territorialization and their consequences on work. They propose new spatial perspectives on for example proximity, visibility, meaning, control or resistance. Finally, new directions, ambitions and concerns for research in organisational behaviour are detailed, suggesting avenues that consider space as a central dimension in order to think about organisations, in the light of changes in work but also of decolonial issues.
