Abstract

The situation of rural areas in France is certainly in part the consequence of the major changes that the economic systems have undergone with the rise of the industrial era and the dominant importance taken on by the tertiary sector. The fractures between them and the metropolises can also be explained by the consequences of the processes of globalization, internationalization and globalization, which have led many economic activities to want to benefit from the agglomeration effects offered by the large metropolises. But was the inclusion of such fractures in public policies justified ? Was the veracity of the paradigms indisputable ? Do the paradigms that signify and justify the territorial divide have the absolute value that is often attached to them ?
