Abstract

The article examines how the new public management has transformed the organizations and actors of home care, from a socio-historical analysis of the sector. Starting from the evaluative system put in place, it proposes to study the current changes. The use of data from institutional literature and qualitative surveys reveals a redefinition of the concrete work carried out by the workers. This redefinition is part of an industrial rationalization, radically different from the professional rationalization at the base of the socio-historical consolidation and formalization of the sector.
