Influence du dirigeant altruiste sur la performance de l’entreprise familiale

Abstract

L'homo oeconomicus, figure traditionnelle des modèles de performance des organisations laisse entrevoir une dimension altruiste encore peu explorée dans la littérature. La controverse récente sur l'altruisme positif et négatif nous invite à examiner le lien entre altruisme managérial et performance. L'étude porte sur un échantillon de 117 entreprises familiales françaises non cotées, détenues et/ou contrôlées à plus de 50% par les membres de la famille. Les résultats des tests confirment l'influence positive et significative de l'altruisme du dirigeant-propriétaire sur la performance, a fortiori en présence d'un engagement familial fort. L'entreprise familiale serait-elle alors le berceau de l'homo allocentricus ?
