Abstract

Ce chapitre cherche à comprendre par quels processus l'aide apportée aux personnes âgées peut être transformée par l'utilisation d'objets connectés. Pour ce faire, on rappellera dans une première partie les caractéristiques de ce "travail de femme". On verra ainsi comment la division sexuelle du travail conduit à assigner aux femmes l'aide aux personnes âgées, et on soulignera les effets de cette partition de genre, tout particulièrement le déni du travail effectué dans la sphère privée domestique. Puis, dans une deuxième partie, on montrera comment les objets connectés sont actuellement porteurs d'une rationalisation de type industriel, ayant comme résultat de renforcer l'invisibilité des tâches les plus caractéristiques de ce "travail de femme". On s'interrogera pour terminer sur les conditions auxquelles ces objets pourraient au contraire être porteurs d'améliorations des conditions de travail et d'une meilleure reconnaissance du "travail de femme".
