Abstract

The Italian family-owned company ATOM is a leading supplier of cutting systems for leather, soft and semi-rigid materials. The development of this small- and medium-sized enterprise (SME) has been marked by continuous innovation and internationalization, driven by a strong customer orientation. ATOM group - with four production units and ten sales subsidiaries worldwide - is a small company that has evolved in a way to be comparable with large multinationals. The group has achieved sustainable growth over the past few decades, mainly because of its development in emerging markets. The case-study focuses on the company's entry into the Brazilian market.
