Pourquoi les festivals nous manquent vraiment

Abstract

Avec plus de 7,5 millions de festivaliers en 2019 uniquement sur les gros festivals de musiques actuelles français, ces rassemblements festifs sont bien ancrés dans l'imaginaire estival, au même titre que le Tour de France. Mais plus qu'une activité culturelle ou de loisir, le festival revêt une fonction sociale bien spécifique. Il s'agit ici de resituer le rôle de ces rassemblements devenus des rituels communautaires, avec une approche à la fois anthropologique, ethnologique et sociologique de la fête. En quoi le festival répond-il à nos besoins d'un point de vue social ?
