La rapidité de développement des nouveaux produits

Abstract

Parmi les principaux facteurs expliquant la durée du cycle de conception, les caractéristiques des produits et des technologies semblent jouer un rôle majeur. Le processus de développement étant envisagé comme processus de réduction d'incertitude, les hypothèses suivantes sont présentées : (1) la complexité et la nouveauté des produits tendent à augmenter la durée du cycle de conception, et (2) l'expérience passée et la familiarité avec les technologies mises en oeuvre tendent à la réduire. Ces hypothèses sont vérifiées dans le cas d'un producteur français d'automates qui eut à subir d'importants retards de développement engendrés par des objectifs trop ambitieux en termes de produits et de technologies.
