Abstract

Le développement d'internet et la croissance fulgurante des transactions commerciales via le World Wide Web (WWW) pose un défi majeur aux entreprises œuvrant dans un contexte de globalisation. L'industrie française du luxe, fortement exportatrice, est concernée par l'ampleur de ce phénomène, principalement en Amérique du nord. Le WWW est-il compatible avec les pratiques et l'image associées à l'industrie du luxe ? Et pour quels produits et services ? Faut-il des stratégies de communication adaptées à ce média ? Cet article apporte un premier élément de réponse. A travers l'observation de divers sites d'entreprises de luxe présentes sur le WWW, il compare les stratégies d'implantation utilisées par divers secteurs du luxe.
