Abstract

Aujourd'hui en France, deux opérateurs - Flixbus et BlaBlaCar via sa marque BlaBlaBus - se partagent l'essentiel du marché des lignes de bus longue distance. Tous deux s'appuient sur un modèle d'affaires qui relève de la plateforme d'intermédiation. Avec la promulgation de la loi Macron à l'été 2015 qui a libéralisé ce mode de transport, le marché a considérablement évolué. Dans cet article, nous proposons d'abord un rapide bilan de la dynamique de ce marché, depuis sa création jusqu'à sa consolidation inévitable. À l'aune de nouvelles opportunités permises par la loi Mobilités, nous discutons ensuite de l'importance du digital dans la stratégie des opérateurs ainsi que du contrepoids concurrentiel exercé par d'autres modes de transport au positionnement proche
