Le Brésil de Bolsonaro, une alliance improbable entre libéralisme et conservatisme

Abstract

Quelques mois seulement après son élection, le nouveau président brésilien suscite de vives passions et controverses, mais surtout une profonde incompréhension sur la ligne directrice générale de ses politiques. Ayant réussi à concentrer autour de lui toute une série d'oppositions aux politiques précédentes, dites ""progressistes"", menées par le Parti des travailleurs, une certaine ambiguïté fut soulevée dès la campagne électorale de 2018 sur l'appartenance apparemment paradoxale de Jair Bolsonaro à la mouvance conservatrice, à la fois nationaliste et très rigide sur la question des mœurs, et la présence à ses côtés de l'économiste néolibéral, Paulo Guedes, promouvant une plus grande liberté sur le plan économique. Les premières mesures adoptées se situent finalement dans le cadre de ces deux idéologies, avec une réconciliation entre celles-ci qui n'est finalement pas si paradoxale au regard de l'évolution de la société brésilienne.
