Abstract

En France, depuis plusieurs années déjà, les réseaux de transports collectifs urbains connaissent de sévères difficultés de dessertes des quartiers périphériques d'habitat social. Insécurités, violences et incivilités aboutissent souvent au boycott de ces quartiers. C'est dans l'objectif d'éviter ces ruptures spatiales et sociales que des médiateurs issus des quartiers ont été recrutés sur les réseaux. La recherche que nous avons menée visait à analyser les effets régulateurs de cette présence humaine sur le fonctionnement de certaines « lignes à haute tension ». Il ressort que ces nouvelles missions de médiation doivent désormais être considérées comme de véritables métiers dans le monde des transports urbains.
