Une génération historique : les jeunes retraités

Abstract

La génération des jeunes retraités de la période 1990-2000 est historique car elle a contribué aux grandes transformations des sociétés occidentales de l'après-guerre. La manière dont on en parle aussi bien dans les média que dans les grands organismes et les discours officiels témoigne de l'existence d'un présupposé sur l'âge- tenace en France- qui néglige les transformations sociales, démographiques et culturelles jusque dans les modes de vie que des femmes ont impulsées ou accompagnées. On évoque ici quelques traits de ces changements par la mise en évidence de figures sociologiques d'hommes et de femmes, comme la figure de grand mère, novatrice de liens familiaux et extrafamiliaux bien au delà des solidarités, ouverts sur la cité et la culture tandis qu'une démocratisation de l'espace domestique résiste encore.
