Abstract

Pour poser la question de l'intervention publique en faveur des espaces ruraux sur le registre de l'aménagement du territoire, les auteurs discutent, d'une part, des fondements économiques à partir desquels la "prise en charge" de cette catégorie d'espaces peut être raisonnée, en essayant d'aller au-delà de l'arbitrage classique entre efficacité et équité et, d'autre part, du rôle de l'Etat dans un dispositif public qui tend de plus en plus à confier aux collectivités territoriales la responsabilité de ce domaine de l'intervention publique.
