Workforce: increasing feminization

Abstract

Between the French censuses from 1982 to 1990, the labor force has increased, but much less than during the previous intercensal period from 1975 to 1982 which benefited, it is true, the arrival on the labor market of the age groups born during demographic renewal of the postwar period. The major phenomenon is the increasing number of women in the workforce in employment (+ 10%), while that of men decreased slightly.
