Abstract

L'article réexamine la critique que Pierangelo Garégnani (1960) porte à la cohérence de la théorie de la capitalisation walrassienne. L'infirmation de cette critique repose sur la mise en évidence que la lecture de Garégnani du modèle de Walras ne tiendrait pas compte de la 7ème section des Eléments d'Economie Politique Pure, particulièrement lorsque sont introduites des fonctions de production à coefficients variables. On montre que cette variabilité n'est pas sans influence sur la détermination inter-temporelle du taux d'intérêt. Dans ce cadre, on ne peut plus, comme Garégnani, faire reposer la sous-détermination ou la surdétermination des équations walrassiennes sur la non variabilité du taux d'intérêt par rapport au choix d'une technique au cours du processus de concurrence puisque ce choix dépend de coefficients de production flexibles.
