Le parcours professionnel des chômeurs de longue durée

Abstract

Cet article présente les premiers résultats d'un projet de recherche qui étudie le parcours professionnel de personnes confrontées au chômage de longue durée en Suisse au cours de l'année 2002. L'étude, qui couvre les trois ans avant et les trois ans après la période de chômage, cherche notamment à répondre aux questions suivantes: quels sont les facteurs qui conduisent au chômage de longue durée? Existe-t-il un profil type des chômeurs de longue durée? Le chômage de longue durée est-il un événement plutôt unique ou récurrent? Combien de chômeurs de longue durée arrivent-ils à réintégrer le marché du travail? Qui sont-ils et comment s'y prennent-ils? Quelles sont les catégories les plus exposées et donc exclues du marché du travail?
