Abstract

Le domaine d'activités agricoles et agroalimentaires est un des secteurs les plus structurés et coopératifs de notre économie. Cet article tente de démontrer que le lien entre ces deux faits n'est pas dû au hasard. Les leviers de performance, les sources d'efficience et la bonne gouvernance de ce secteur sont en étroite liaison avec ses pratiques de coopération et de filières structurées. L'essor des coopérations dans ce secteur est d'abord lié aux caractéristiques des produits (périssabilité, typicité, marges faibles et localisation des bassins de production et de consommation), puis aux stratégies des firmes multinationales agroalimentaires (FMN-A) contraintes à des adaptations multiples et fréquentes en raison des évolutions technologiques et des habitudes de consommation qui compressent les cycles de vie et complexifient les champs de connaissances. Cet article examine les spécificités territoriales et spatiales des réseaux, les choix de formes de coopération et de leur gouvernance, ainsi que la dynamique pour le secteur agroalimentaire.
