Abstract

A manager must question him/herself on the organizational structure to be adopted: he/she has a role in implementing coherence. He/she must also federate his/her staff around an ideal: he/she has a role in reinforcing cohesion. In view of the manager's dual role, certain organizational theorists are building instruments which reinforce coherence. In contrast, others encourage values management. Alas, few people have studied the individual basis of these two collective phenomena. By exploring this individual genesis, we have witnessed the emergence of a hitherto unsuspected mode of intervention: absurdity- based management.
