Abstract

L'ouvrage traite des relations science-industrie et de leur incription dans un cadre géographique, à partir du cas de la France. Il comprend une analyse historique de la constitution des systèmes scientifiques locaux, une étude statistique de la "carte scientifique" contemporaine, une étude des relations science-industrie et une étude sociologique des parcours et des réseaux sociaux des ingénieurs et chercheurs impliqués dans les relations science-industrie. Il met en évidence la nécessité de dissocier les logiques de constitution historique des concentrations géographiques d'activités scientifiques et industrielles de leurs logiques de fonctionnement à un moment donné. Des processus historiques très différents peuvent conduire à des situations similaires comme le montrent les exemples de Grenoble et Toulouse. Lorsque ces systèmes sont constitués, les relations entre organisations qui en font partie (entreprises, laboratoires, organisations d'action publique) sont dans tous les cas largement encastrées dans des réseaux de relations interpersonnelles.
