Abstract

From the Coasian conception of the firm, this paper aims at analyzing the effects of the recent human resource management devices on the internal organization of the firm. We show that the firm is simulating the market in allocative and incentive terms. However, we underline that human resource management devices do not put the nature of the firm into question, i.e. the authority relation. They rather contribute to establish the employer's authority on his/her employees.
