Les Determinants De La Publication D'Informations Sur Les Activites De Recherche Et Developpement En France : Une Etude Longitudinale Et Methodologique

Abstract

Dans cette étude, nous avons analysé, sur chacune des années 2002, 2003 et 2004, les rapports annuels d'entreprises faisant partie de l'indice SBF 250 et communiquant sur leurs activités de recherche et développement (R&D). Dans chaque rapport annuel, nous avons dénombré les informations relatives à la R&D sous deux formes très différentes, celle d'un score et celle d'un indice. Des tests univariés ainsi que des analyses multivariées ont ensuite permis de relier les deux mesures du niveau de publication ainsi obtenues à douze caractéristiques susceptibles d'expliquer, pour chaque entreprise et sur chaque année, sa stratégie de publication d'informations en matière de R&D. Les principaux résultats des tests statistiques montrent que nos deux mesures des niveaux de publication sur la R&D sont significativement et positivement corrélés à quatre facteurs déterminants, sur nos trois années d'étude : l'intensité de R&D, la taille (ou de façon alternative la cotation sur un ou plusieurs marchés financiers anglo-saxons), l'appartenance à un secteur d'activité innovant et une politique active de protection des innovations. De façon innovante, nos investigations montrent ainsi que les résultats de notre étude sont stables dans le temps et que l'emploi de deux définitions opérationnelles très différentes pour mesurer les niveaux de publication n'a pas d'impact sur les résultats principaux obtenus. Ces deux éléments viennent renforcer de façon rétroactive les résultats de l'ensemble des recherches effectuées sur les déterminants de la publication volontaire d'information, dans la mesure où les études précédentes ont toutes été réalisées à partir d'une période unique d'observation et en ne retenant qu'une seule définition opérationnelle pour la variable à expliquer.
