Abstract

Le Balanced Scorecard fait l'objet d'une nombreuse littérature témoin d'un fort engouement pour cet outil de gestion. Néanmoins, une analyse approfondie des différents travaux montre un certain paradoxe concernant la place du quatrième axe (apprentissage organisationnel et croissance) entre les prescriptions des auteurs, Kaplan et Norton, et les pratiques managériales effectives. Pour les premiers cet axe est fondamental alors que dans la pratique il s'avère sous-dimensionné. L'objectif de cette communication, à partir de deux études de cas reposant sur des recherche-actions, est d'analyser les raisons de ce décalage en prenant l'exemple de BSC développés dans deux établissements hospitaliers. Au préalable une revue de la littérature examine la place de cet axe chez Kaplan et Norton puis dans les travaux relatant des expérimentations de cet outil.
