Abstract

Les déplacements pour motif professionnel font largement figure de « boîte noire », tant pour les spécialistes des transports et de la mobilité que pour ceux qui s'intéressent, sous un angle économique ou sociologique, aux organisations productives et au travail. A travers une analyse de la littérature et une enquête auprès d'un grand fournisseur de l'automobile, cet article s'intéresse aux liens entre ces déplacements et les stratégies d'organisation de la production et du travail. Nous montrons notamment que dans certains cas les choix d'organisation sont, très consciemment, appuyés sur la possibilité d'une mobilité des salariés entre les sites de l'entreprise. Dans d'autre cas, la mobilité apparaît plutôt comme l'effet non voulu ou non anticipé des choix industriels.
