Abstract

[eng] The aim of this paper is to study the relations between international trade and regional firms performances (represented here by industrial employment rate of growth) with sectorial competition models. Assuming that regional firms belong to oligopolistic industries and that their results depend on structural features of these industries, on their conditions of production, profitability and position in external exchange ; the models are applied to the evolution of industrial employment in PACA. The foreseable relationship between international exchange and sectorial performances appears, for different reasons, impossible to be econometrically quantified. But, discriminant analysis prove that the partition of industries in different classes of performance relating to employment is explained by their position in international trade.
