Abstract

Clément Juglar était considéré par SChumpeter comme le fondateur de la théorie moderne des cycles. Schumpeter considérait également que Juglar était un auteur majeur car non seulement il avait identifié le retour périodique des crises mais il était l'un des premiers économistes à mêler analyses théoriques, historiques mais aussi statistiques. Il donna le nom de "cycle Juglar" au mouvement périodique identifié par cet auteur. Ce papier examine et compare les théories des cycles de ces deux auteurs mais aussi leur conception du développement économique et de la nécessité (ou pas) de recourir à des politiques économiques (de stabilisation).
