Abstract

Dans le puissant mouvement de développement industriel que connaît la Chine, le phénomène des districts industriels ou clusters, ou concentrations d'industries dans un même type d'activité, occupe dans certaines régions une place importante. Nous avons choisi de nous polariser sur les clusters de firmes traditionnelles très intégrées qui se trouvent dans de nombreuses régions de Chine, plutôt dans des zones rurales allant en s'urbanisant ou de petites villes, et qui présentent une forte spécificité de mono industrie dans des biens de consommation. La province du Zhejiang est sans aucun doute considérée comme la plus remarquable, et comme l'un des modèles à suivre dans les mutations contemporaines vers l'économie de marché. Comment se sont développés les clusters du Zhejiang ? Quelles sont les caractéristiques de ce développement ? Peut-on parler ici d'une « troisième Chine », de même que l'on a parlé jadis d'une « 3° Italie » à propos des districts industriels ? En fait, y a-t-il une réelle spécificité des clusters chinois. Telles sont quelques-unes des questions que nous souhaiterions aborder.
