Abstract

Pour évaluer les chances de développement du ferroviaire d'ici à 2050, le bilan environnemental doit être pris en compte ainsi que les autres facteurs de croissance (ou de déclin) de cette activité, notamment sa capacité (ou son inaptitude) à répondre à la demande de mobilité des voyageurs et des marchandises. La recomposition du secteur résultant de la mise en concurrence des opérateurs et des gestionnaires d'infrastructures joue aussi un rôle dans l'avenir du rail.
