Abstract

Les prospectives sur le changement climatique amplifient les risques déjà lourds qui pèsent sur les ressources hydriques et les capacités agricoles au sud de la Méditerranée. Ce papier analyse la portée méthodologique du concept de " commerce d'eau virtuelle " en quantifiant le contenu en eau du commerce international des produits agricoles des pays d'Afrique du Nord. Il montre aussi sa pertinence en tant qu'outil stratégique susceptible de structurer les stratégies d'adaptation à la rareté croissante de l'eau et les politiques commerciales dans la région.
