La prise en compte de l'éthique dans les choix d'investissement des entreprises

Abstract

L'importance croissante donnée par le consommateur et l'investisseur à la dimension socialement responsable des activités économiques oblige à s'interroger sur ses conséquences en termes de choix d'investissement des entreprises. Nous expliquons pourquoi et comment les choix altruistes des actionnaires ainsi que les risques supplémentaires encourus par les firmes non éthiques doivent être pris en compte dans les critères de choix d'investissement. Le CAPM est conservé comme modèle de base pour estimer le coût des fonds propres mais est modifié pour inclure à la fois les éventuelles préoccupations altruistes des investisseurs et le risque financier lié au niveau de l'engagement éthique des firmes. La formulation proposée ajoute au CAPM traditionnel deux primes, une d'altruisme et une de risque éthique. Un exemple simple d'application est donné.
