Abstract

L'objet de cet article est de proposer une modélisation du choix d'innover des firmes dans une perspective par les compétences, en s'appuyant sur les innovations non-technologiques. Il vise donc à éclairer la relation entre innovation et compétences. Il met en évidence l'existence de compétence centrale requise pour innover. Mais les compétences internes ne suffisent pas en général pour innover et le processus d'innovation implique aussi des acteurs externes. Plutôt que de se cantonner à l'acquisition des connaissances de ses partenaires, la firme peut accéder à des compétences complémentaires et combiner l'ensemble des compétences dont elle dispose pour en créer de nouvelles et les valoriser sur le marché
