The history of the monetary facts in Russia throughout the XIX-th century is a restless history. The phases of the economic development are chopped by the wars and the political crises. The monetary facts of this period illustrate the attitude of the politics of the Prince under economic constraint. The rouble had this particular fate to know before most of the currencies of the big European States the most different experiments. From Pierre le Grand to Lenin, the history of rouble is marked by innovative initiatives, premature and failed attempts or unknown disasters up to there in this scale. The history of the currency in Russia today, is connected in a direct way to the problems of the political power. The brief study which we present here is an attempt of reconstruction of the history of the Russian monetary facts in the XIX-th century. The concepts used to do this second reading of the history of the monetary facts in Russia have a big importance. They allow in particular to put in evidence the dynamics existing between the logic of politics and that of the market.
