Desarrollo de la Información, globalización y desarrollo económico en América Latina

Abstract

Una de las manifestaciones más importantes del proceso conocido genéricamente como globalización es su característica de hecho cultural universal, razón por la cual el desarrollo de la información se constituye en uno de los elementos claves que motoriza la configuración de su dinámica particular. En el presente trabajo se intenta vincular el manejo estratégico que se haga del desarrollo de la información con el progreso social y económico de los países latinoamericanos, rescatando la singularidad de la región, en tanto escenarios de culturas diversas e intentando aproximarse a ciertas aristas de la explicación necesaria de cómo la inadecuada formulación y ejecución de políticas gubernamentales en materia de manejo de la información puede limitar el posible aprovechamiento de ventajas competitivas en los países de América Latina en ese sentido.
