Abstract

L'objet est de montrer que, quand bien même la dimension sociale n'est pas prise en compte dans les procédures d'évaluation socio-économique couramment utilisées en France, et ce, aussi bien dans la pratique que dans la théorie, il est possible d'identifier les enjeux sociaux de la mobilité urbaine, et de prendre en compte la dimension sociale dans la prise de décision. Cela peut se faire par la traduction des questions sociales des transports urbains en termes de principes et de concepts, dont notamment celui de l'accessibilité. Ce concept d'accessibilité répond, en effet, à l'objectif d'égalité des chances vis-à-vis des transports urbains. Cette égalité de chances constitue un principe fondamental ressortant aussi bien d'une analyse de la mobilité urbaine, que de la pensée philosophique égalitariste dans ses divers courants.
