Abstract

C'est dans une conjoncture de croissance mondiale soutenue que l'ensemble de la chimie a pu améliorer ses performances et cela dans toutes les parties du monde. Cette dynamique est la conjugaison de deux tendances : d'une part le maintien d'un rythme soutenu de la croissance de la chimie dans les pays de l'Asie, une reprise significative aux Etats-Unis et en Amérique latine et d'autre part un retournement de tendance à la hausse de la croissance de cette industrie dans l'Europe entière, particulièrement au sein de l'Union européenne, mais également au sein des pays de l'Europe centrale et orientale. Cette année 2004 apparaît comme une embellie au regard des quatre dernières années particulièrement médiocres.
