Abstract

Dans tous les pays, on voit ressurgir le questionnement sur le transport de marchandises en ville (TMV) au début des années 1990. Depuis, il ne cesse de faire l'objet de travaux de plus en plus nombreux. L'interférence de deux processus est certainement à l'origine de cette étonnante synchronie dans la réapparition d'une préoccupation autour des « marchandises en ville ». Le premier est celui du développement de l'espace urbain sur une surface de plus en plus grande, de plus en plus saturée de voitures. Le deuxième est celui du développement de la logistique moderne. Les auteurs tentent de décrire l'essentiel des acquis de l'effort entrepris dans cette dernière décennie. Cette description sera fondée sur le cas français. Malgré tout, les auteurs essaient de donner, au fil des paragraphes, un aperçu sur d'autres pays européens.
