Abstract

L'objectif de cet article est d'analyser la reconfiguration des stratégies des firmes à travers les alliances symétriques et asymétriques dans une industrie en mutation, celle des télécommunications.L'analyse multicritères des données, par la classification ascendante hiérarchique, d'une base de données de 1099 alliances réalisées par 700 firmes entre 1988 et 2002, montre que les alliances symétriques concernent souvent l'innovation et la technologique et impliquent des relations stables entre les partenaires avec des formes flexibles de coopération ; les alliances asymétriques sont plus tournées vers des préoccupations de production et de marché à travers des formes de coopération plus structurées et formalisées.
