Abstract

This article tackles the redefinition of normativity and positivity in historical approaches of economics. Studying the Weberian criticism of the 19th century German Historical School of Political Economy, I aim to show that a thorough analysis of the historical nature of economic objects leads to many changes in the definition of both normativity and positivity. More precisely, my contribution focuses on two Weberian concepts: Wertfreiheit and Wertbeziehung.
