Abstract

This research investigates the relationship between supply chain (SC) innovation, supply chain risk management (SCRM) and the performance of Cameroon firms within the context of several crises. To test these relationships, an empirical study was conducted with a sample of 209 companies in Cameroon. The data was analysed via SPSS v. 28 and the relationships were tested via structural equation modelling using SmartPLS4. The results show, on the one hand, that the innovations have positive direct effects on the reactive and preventive management of SC risks. On the other hand, preventive risk management partially mediates between the innovation and the firms' performance in developing economies. These results lead to the conclusion that companies in such a context are more vulnerable to the occurrence of risks if they did not initiate the innovation process before the crisis arises.
