L'utilisation couplée des approches C.A.R.E./IDEA4 pour préserver les capitaux naturels et humains dans les entreprises agricoles à l'échelle du territoire

Agricultural production is the cornerstone of our socio-economic system. But its functions of providing food and raw materials for industry are today threatened by the accumulation of ecological crises, in that they threaten the "relations of organisms [including humans and non-humans] with the surrounding external world, in which we include in the broadest sense all conditions of existence [and cohabitation]." (Rambaud, 2022, p.35, author's note), exponentially superimposed on one another.At a time when every player is putting forward his or her own solution to the complex equation that would combine agricultural production and planetary limits, experimental initiatives have been multiplying in recent years, driven in particular by researcher-farmers who are organizing themselves to respond to these multiple challenges. Other players with links to the farming world are trying to make their contribution to the edifice, by combining experimentation with innovative methods and frameworks for strong sustainability with "open hood" work, i.e. involving stakeholders in methodological co-construction inspired by participatory research.The FNCuma (Fédération Nationale des Coopératives d'utilisation de matériels agricoles) has taken up this challenge of "open-air sciences" as opposed to "confined sciences" (Callon et al., 2001), coordinating a project to test C.A.R.E. (Comprehensive Accounting in Respect of Ecology) coupled with IDEA4 sustainability diagnosis in the Ille-et-Vilaine region. The aim of this paper is to understand the interest and potential results of coupling the two frameworks C.A.R.E. and IDEA4 on a territory for the preservation of natural and human capital on farms, as well as the motivations that lead the project stakeholders to work together.
