Abstract

Dans un environnement fortement concurrentiel et mondialisé, les petites et moyennes entreprises (PME) sont appelées aujourd'hui à être plus compétitives pour garantir leur survie et leur pérennité que ce soit au niveau de l'acquisition des ressources rares et précieuses ou au niveau de l'efficacité de leur management. Face à ces défis, les propriétaires-dirigeants ou entrepreneurs explorent des voix alternatives comme l'exploitation de leurs capital social. Par ailleurs, certaines recherches tentent de dépasser le débat entre les approches traditionnelles de l'entrepreneuriat (économiques, psychologiques, etc.) et de montrer que le capital social un pourvoyeur de ressources utiles à l'entrepreneur et un levier de performance à son entreprise (Burt, 1992, Granovetter, 1995 ; Swedberg, 2000 ; Julien, 2003 et al.). Il s'agit ici de présenter un cadrage théorique valable pour des études empiriques ultérieures. En se basant sur une approche théorique nous avons abouti au fait que la littérature entrepreneuriale, notamment au Maroc, n'abordait pas l'effet indirect du capital social de l'entrepreneur sur la performance via l'acquisition des ressources.
