Abstract

The inter-war period was a period of transition, during which ideas were put forward that would later be exploited by Allais, Debreu and Malinvaud. Rueff affirmed the thesis of the methodological unity of the sciences. Divisia and Roy followed in the tradition of Walras and Cournot. Potron and the Guillaume brothers developed non-Walrasian rational economics. Borel laid the foundations of game theory. Obstacles to statistical research were gradually removed.
