Abstract

La critique du tourisme est aussi ancienne que le tourisme, car ce dernier provoque, depuis ses origines, des réactions épidermiques chez certains. S'il y a, au cœur de cette tourismophobie, d'hier à aujourd'hui, la question de la masse et les stratégies de distinction entre ceux qui s'autodésignent « voyageurs » et les touristes, il y a, au-delà de cet élitisme, la valorisation d'un « tourisme moyen », ni trop populaire ni trop exclusif. La tourismophobie n'est donc pas seulement cantonnée au « tourisme de masse » mais touche également l'autre bout du spectre touristique.
