Abstract

In search of ways to teach the history of management sciences, an original approach was adopted by dedicating an ephemeral museum to the history of management and managerial thought. Analysis of this experience highlights how traditional teaching methods such as textbooks can be complemented by using objects that make managerial practices more concrete, and, more importantly, that explain the social relations underlying them. In particular, this article explores how this museum manages to make management more tangible through the use of artifacts from the history of organizations. It also highlights how educators need to support the learning capacity of their pupils. Finally, the article uses these same artifacts to illustrate collective action in an original way.
