Abstract

Inscrite dans la Déclaration des droits de l'homme, la sûreté n'en demeure pas moins une préoccupation constante et constitue donc pour chacun un besoin, voire un désir, par définition inassouvi. Cette demande de sécurité alimente une offre, provenant aussi bien de la force publique, dans ses prérogatives régaliennes, que des entreprises privées, attirées par un marché lucratif et assez simple à stimuler – si l'on sait créer un sentiment d'insécurité, le client accourra… Ce nouveau volume de la collection « Drôles de marchés » analyse les rouages de ce service atypique où les institutions – gendarmerie et Police nationale – croisent des acteurs dynamiques – polices municipales, sécurité privée, voisins vigilants… L'analyse des forces en présence est suivie d'un focus sur les ressources humaines et les technologies. Des témoignages de professionnels enrichissent l'ensemble, offrant au lecteur des points de vue concrets sur la production de sécurité dans ce monde turbulent.
