Abstract
This communication focuses on the work of the Doughnut Economics, promoted by British economist Kate Raworth, and developed within the laboratory she founded, the DEAL (Doughnut Economics Action Lab). Presented both as a theoretical framework (Raworth, 2017), an economic philosophy (Les Échos, 2023), and a quantification device, the Doughnut offers a representation of socio-ecology that synthesizes the work of Rockström et al. (2009) on the framework of "planetary boundaries" (called "ecological ceiling") and the work of the UN (2015) on the SDGs partly illustrated by the "social ceiling". Our analysis is based on an internal and external study of Raworth's work, coupled with a qualitative survey. The intervention is organized in four stages: 1) a presentation of Kate Raworth, the Doughnut, and the "theses" defended by her; 2) a presentation of her lab, the global and territorial ramifications; 3) the internal reasons for such an attraction; 4) the theoretical, practical, and ethical difficulties.
