Un grand évènement professionnel au service d’un groupe professionnel : la mise en scène des libraires

Abstract

Cet article contribue à l'analyse des processus de renouvellement des groupes professionnels à travers un dispositif d'intermédiation particulier qu'est le grand évènement. Le champ d'observation (les mutations de l'industrie du livre) est un objet déjà balisé par les sciences sociales mais l'approche est originale par l'angle d'attaque choisi : nous mobilisons ainsi les travaux sur les groupes professionnels et la sociologie des grands évènements. L'étude de cas porte sur l'analyse des Rencontres Nationales de la Librairie, évènement bisannuel qui rassemble la communauté des libraires depuis 2011. Nous montrons comment cet évènement fabrique du lien communautaire et identitaire à partir de trois ressources : le lignage, la compétence et le collectif.
