Abstract

While Kenya positively appreciates the approach of the United Nations Organization (UN) to send a multinational force to Haiti and to take the reins, some authors of the Integrated and Scientific Research Center of Haiti (CRISH) draw up a synoptic and comparative summary of the two countries according to the economic, social, environmental and institutional data available. Far from positioning themselves for or against sending a multinational force to Haiti, they let the data do the talking while analyzing the statistics drawn from official databases. This article tries to answer the following question: what explains the economic, social, environmental and institutional situations of Kenya and Haiti?
