Abstract

This study, which focuses on the issue of sovereignty in the DRC, has set itself the objective of verifying the sovereignty of the national currency in the DRC. To achieve this, the study is divided into 3 points which respectively dealt with generalities on monetary sovereignty, statistical verification of sovereignty and finally empirical analysis of monetary sovereignty. After analysis by the ARDL model, the study came to the conclusion that the Congolese national currency does not meet the criteria of a sovereign currency, because it cannot be used to stabilize the general level of prices and boost the economic growth.
